PAWS FOR A CAUSE

At Maxi’s Mates Rescue & Rehoming Centre, our community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from individuals, local businesses, and organisations who share our passion for helping stray and unwanted dogs across Redcar & Cleveland and the Hambleton areas.

Right now, we’re at full capacity, with over 50 dogs currently in our care. Your support means more than ever as we work tirelessly to provide them with the love, safety, and second chances they deserve.

Join Us for a Day of Family Fun in Support of Maxis Mates

Saturday 23rd August | Dormans Club, Middlesbrough

At Maxis Mates, our mission is simple. We give strays, and unwanted dogs the time, space, and care they need to find safety and a second chance.

Based in Guisborough, our rescue is run by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to support every dog that comes through our gates.

But we can't do it alone.

On Saturday 23rd August, we’re inviting the community to join us for a Family Fun Day in support of the work we do. The event will take place at Dormans Club in Middlesbrough, from 12pm to 4pm, and it’s completely free to attend.

Expect a fun-filled afternoon with something for everyone. There will be a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos, and stalls from fantastic local sellers. We’ve also got tacos, pizza and sweet treats lined up.

All money raised on the day will go directly to the dogs in our care.

That includes food, veterinary care, safe and warm shelter, and long-term support for those who need more time to heal.

The event will also help us move closer to future plans, like creating a hydrotherapy pool, an indoor exercise space, and new areas for dogs who find kennel life more difficult.

We’ve already had an amazing start to 2025. Our friends at Surge, who chose us as their Charity Partner of the Year, and donated £10,000 worth of marketing time to build our brand-new website. They spent time with us, photographed our dogs, and created a platform that reflects the scale and heart of our work.

Now they’re helping us raise vital funds so we can continue to grow and provide the best care possible.

This is more than a fundraiser.

It’s a chance for the local community to come together, support a cause close to home, and help make a difference to the lives of the dogs who need it most.

Kennel Sponsorship

Help you - Help us - Help them

️This is a fantastic way to help our dogs at Maxi’s Mates. Promoting your business, helping Maxi’s to meet the crippling costs to keep us running and helping the dogs have a safe place to stay with warm beds and good food. ️

We are looking for businesses or personal sponsors to sponsor a kennel for either the cold winter period from October to March of £500, or an annual sponsorship of £1000 for the year.

In return, we will recognise your sponsorship by promoting your name or company name and a plaque on the kennel front so any visitors can see your wonderful donation to our rescue dogs.

We will also send you a picture to confirm the kennel which you have sponsored, and of course, you're very welcome to visit your kennel for pictures and, more importantly, to meet the resident you’ve sponsored…this could be one of our long termers or a stray or abandoned dog while they wait for their new home.

As always, we are forever grateful for the wonderful support we have. If you are interested and would like more information, please email us at [email protected].

We can also offer the option of gifting the sponsorship. Please email us at [email protected] if you would like more information and to register your interest

10th Birthday Celebrations

The opening of our new long termer kennels thanks to the amazing 27k grant given from Support Adoption For Pets.

Andy Preston kindly cut the ribbon and we thank him so much for all the support he’s given us over the years.

We also thank all the staff for all their hard work and the volunteers who we couldn’t do without for helping us care for our dogs day in day out.

Since we started in our own right on 1-1-16 and not as volunteers at Waterfall Kennels we have helped so many dogs.

The total figure adopted today is 1500.

We have 34 dogs in at the moment and 8 of these are our long termers 4 of which are sanctuary spaces which means they will stay with us and this is their home.

Together we are making such a huge impact to the strays and unwanted dogs lives and giving them the safe place to stay until we find that right home they need. However long that takes but it will come one day.
