We have 47 dogs in kennels at the moment. Please note, not all of our dogs in kennels are online for adoption. We are looking for rescue spaces as they have some behavioural issues and need a little retraining.

PEARL

Very nice temperament / walks well with other hounds/ Great on the lead
Pearl is a retired Racing dog (Island Pearl) She has experience living in a home for about a year, but brought to us 9/5/23 as she was left for long periods by her owners and she was left feeling lonely and couldn’t settle. Pearl would not like to be rehomed with other dogs or cats due to the instinctive chasing nature of her breed and background. She also likes her own space so children may not understand this and for this reason she will prefer an adult only home.
TRIGGER

Trigger came in 19/1/21and it’s sad to see he’s still with us after all this time. He is a loving and smart dog with a great personality. He loves to play and enjoys the company of humans but needs to build up a relationship with other dogs before trusting them while out. Trigger would be better suited to a home without other pets or young children. He would enjoy an active home with plenty of walks and even some running. He would love a jogging partner!
CHESTER

Chester loves to play, but needs a home without children as he has a few issues with sharing his toys and guarding them. He also doesn’t get on with other dogs as he has had a hard life and can be very reactive when out and about. For this reason Chester is muzzled on walks and when around other dogs, but don’t let that put you off. He is charming and sweet, and not to mention beautiful. He really could do with someone giving him a second chance at finding his forever home. He would love a home with a large garden to play in choosing that over stressful walks anyday! Poor Chester has been with us since 3/3/2019. He really needs someone to give him his chance at a forever home.
ALAN
Age: 6 / D.O.B: 20/7/2017 / Breed: Lurcher / Sex: Male / Neutered
Everybody loves him / Very cute / Super friendly / Fantastic Friend
Alan came back to us on 14/9/22 after being adopted for 3 years. He is so loving and kind, he will be your best friend and bundle of joy. Everyone loves him here at the centre and everybody would take him if they were the right home but we are not. He has some trouble with sleep startle so a quiet safe place to sleep would be needed in his new home. He has some resource guarding and would prefer a home without other pets and children, but with the right owner and training he will make a great pal to a single owner preferably. He is such a sweet dog but his other side due to fear has to be handled by someone that understands him. He will melt your heart.
RORY
Age: 4 / D.O.B 28/7/19 / Breed: Lurcher / Sex: Male
Loving & Kind / Enjoys quiet walks / Likes treats
Rory came in 28/7/19. He is lovable and attentive once he gets to know you and can make a great addition to a quiet home. He would prefer a home without other pets and children, but with training but with the right owner and training he will make a great companion. He loves his own space and is happy sniffing around our paddocks and relaxing on his bed.
CHARLIE
Age: 4 / D.O.B: 15 October 2019 / Breed: ABD / Sex: Male
Playful / Friendly to people / lovely to walk
Charlie came in to the centre on 15/10/22. He is a friendly boy that enjoys walks, people and belly rubs. Would prefer a home with a single owner as he is very sociable and loyal, and enjoys one to one companionship best. He can protect his owner so people have to be aware of that.
He loves playing in the paddock and needs to be the only pet in the home, also a home without children. Charlie is a firm favourite of the volunteers he is very easy to walk and looks for your gaze, he just loves communicating with people.
LUNA
Age: 3 / D.O.B: 04 January 2021 / Breed: ABD Cross / Sex: Female
Friendly with people/ loves to play
She came in to the centre as a stray on 4/8/23. Luna is very high energy and will need a very active home. She loves to be with people but she can get over excited in playing so a home with children wouldn’t be suitable. She is still only young and will make someone a lovely addition to their home.
SUZY
Age: 4 / D.O.B: 13/11/19 / Breed: Bulldog Cross / Sex: Female

Suzy is such a lovely dog, very kind and friendly towards people. She came in as a stray 13/11/22. She doesn’t like walking too far but really enjoys playing around in the paddock or a garden. She would be a great addition to a home with a slower walk of life that can give her plenty of love and snuggles. Suzy would be happy pottering around the home and garden. She also needs to be the only pet in the home.
MANNY
Age: 3 / D.O.B: 2/11/20 / Breed: Lurcher / Sex: Male
Likes his food / fun personality / playful
He originally came in as a stray 2/11/23 so we do not know much about his history.
Manny is quiet and lovely to walk with other similar breeds but he is unsure of bullbreeds and can bark at them.
Manny likes his food too much so we think he would get possessive over it with another dog and therefore would be best being the only pet in the home.
BAILEY
Age: 8 / D.O.B: 1/1/13/ Breed: German Shepherd / Sex: Male
Very playful/ Lots of life in the old dog yet!
Bailey came in as a stray 18/5/22.
Don’t let his age fool you. Bailey runs up and down the paddock like a young dog. He loves to play with the ball, dropping it at your feet to throw again.
He is an excellent house dog who will let you know if anyone knocks on your door. Such a nice nature his bark is bravado. Bailey is looking for a companion he is very smart.
BULLY
Age: 5 / D.O.B: September 2018 / Breed: Greyhound / Sex: Male / Neutered
Likes his food / loves people
Bully is a retired racing Greyhound from Sunderland Stadium and he came in on 20/11/22. His racing name was BULL RUN BREXIT.
He is a little nervous of other breeds living such a sheltered life with only Greyhounds to mix with. So this means that sometimes he can be anxious and can be reactive and bark at other breeds. He is making progress at this.
He is such a lovely dog and walks lovely with other Greyhounds. He always greets you at his kennel door and loves treats. As do all the Greyhounds
CASSIDY
Age: 2 / D.O.B: July 2021 / Breed: Lurcher / Sex: Male
Likes his runs in the paddock / loves human company
Cassidy came into kennels on 8/7/23 as a stray with a severely broken leg which couldn’t be repaired. He had to have the leg removed and did so in a foster home. Cassidy loved being in the home and adapted to it very well as he also has adapted to using three legs. He bounders about the paddocks; it does not hold him back at all. The fur has grown nicely and he is a very loving dog to humans. He needs a home with older children as he is very bouncy and could knock a smaller one by accident. Cassidy needs to be an only pet. He can be reactive to other dogs and he needs a home that someone is around as he doesn’t like to be left alone for long.
DICKY
Age: 5/ D.O.B: Feb 2018 / Breed: Bull Lurcher / Sex: Male / Neutered
Cheeky personality / loves treats/ sniffs on walks
Dicky has been at the centre for a while now, since 5th February 2019. He is a cheeky chap, very mischievous and playful in the paddocks. He loves to sniff everything on walks and he is a lovely dog to walk as long as it’s quiet. He can be very reactive with other dogs but Dicky is muzzle trained. Dicky is ok with some dogs, he has had friends to walk with but the majority he doesn’t like. He needs someone who likes walking in more remote areas although he has been less reactive on trips to the beach so with training and bonding with his forever human we are sure he will improve. There will never be a dull moment with Dicky in your life. He is very fun loving and an interesting character, never boring! He is waiting for that special person to give him the chance he’s been waiting for for so long.
HAZEL
Age: 2 / D.O.B: Nov 2021 / Breed: Crossbreed / Sex: Female
Very smart / highly trainable
She came in to the centre as a stray on 24/11/23.
Hazel is very smart and has been trained previously by someone as she knew a lot of basic commands on arrival. She is very bouncy and needs some guidance to rein this in. Hazel also does not like other dogs and will be reactive to them when outside. She is still young herself but in the right hands she will be a fantastic companion.
IZZY
Age: 1 / D.O.B: 28/12/22 / Breed: Crossbreed / Sex: Female
Still very young / loves adults especially females
Izzy came back to us 15/12/23 and she is very worried in the kennels but she’s coming around now, not as shy. She has been very good with people and has been friendly. She does prefer females to males and her personality is beginning to shine through now she’s not as nervous. She is quite strong to walk and she can pull on the lead. She did live with another dog and children but advice from the previous owner is that she needs a pet free home and no young children.
PERRY

Perry has never been lucky enough to live in a loving home, but with a little retraining all of our rehomed Greyhounds settle quickly into home life. Perry is a really lovely boy who has been waiting patiently to find a family of his own, he will make a lovely companion. Perry is very excited to go on walks and takes the opportunity to take a toy from the toy box on his way out whenever he can. He loves toys so much.
SANGO
Age: 2 / D.O.B: 30/10/21/ Breed: Malinois / Sex: Male
Very clever / taught to do tricks / highly trainable
He came in as a stray 30/10/23.
This breed is not for everyone but for the right person he will be perfect. He is loyal, smart, trainable, and very active. We have seen he has been taught tricks by his previous home before he ended up as a stray. He would love a job and could be a working companion as well as a companion in the home. Sango has settled in kennels and is not destructive like we have seen with other Malinois before. He is adoptable and will make someone a fantastic friend.
SKYE
Age: 1 / D.O.B: 12/12/22 / Breed: Lurcher/Malinois cross / Sex: Female
Very affectionate once she knows you/ lots of energy
She came in as a stray 2/10/23.
Skye is only young and is very happy. She loves to play obedience games, she is a quick learner. She loves to receive praise and affection from humans and she loves to give affection in return. Loves her walks, she loves to sniff all the smells out there. Skye is reactive to dogs coming in and out of the kennels but once outside she calms down and focuses on the human and can ignore the other dogs then.
She is a very pretty girl and would make the right owner a fantastic best friend indeed.
TIMMY
Age: 4 / D.O.B: 17/10/2019 / Breed: Greyhound l / Sex: Male

Timmy came in 31/10/23 after retiring from racing. His name was TIMMY TOPS and he stopped racing due to a wrist tendon. He was kennelled with a female Greyhound and likes other dogs, especially hounds or Lurchers, he would not like to be rehomed with small dogs or cats due to his instinctive chasing background. Timmy has never been lucky enough to live in a loving home, but with a little retraining all of our rehomed Greyhounds settle quickly into home life. Timmy is a really lovely boy who has been waiting patiently to find a family of his own, he will make a lovely companion. Timmy also loves toys so much he often can’t help himself going past the toy box to claim another one.
DIESEL
Age: 4 / D.O.B: 1/10/2019 Breed: Staffy / Sex: Male Neutered
Loves the garden / loves long walks in remote areas
Needs an experienced owner Diesel is very unhappy and nervous in kennels.
He has lived in a home for a few weeks on 8/1/24 and feedback is he can’t be left for too long. He loves the garden and loves to play.
Diesel prefers walking in quieter areas as he doesn’t like too many other people or dogs around. He can be fearful of loud noises and this can affect his confidence he is fine on a one to one basis.
PATCH
Age: 1 / D.O.B: 10/6/2022 / Breed:Lurcher / Sex: Male
Loves the paddock / lovely temperament
Patch is still a young dog and he is very friendly to people. Lovely to walk although can pull a little and doesn’t react to other dogs but is aware of them.
He came in as a stray 17/1/24 so we do not know too much about his history but observations from kennels are that he is a really nice lad who will make a perfect addition to the family.
TILLY
Age: 6 / D.O.B: 28/12/2017 / Breed: Cane Corso / Sex: Female / Neutered
Loves her toys / loves people / house trained
Beautiful big friendly girl who loves people and attention so much. She loves playing with her toys and loves cuddles. Tilly is a big strong girl so she will need someone to match that when walking her, although a halti does help. Tilly doesn’t like other dogs so distance needs to be kept when out walking. Tilly loves nothing better than bringing her toys to you so it would help if she had a garden to play in. Tilly also has an ongoing problem with her ears, all would be explained on adoption. She settled in really well in a home she even lets you know when she needs to go out for a wee. Her adoptions have failed through no fault of her own. Amazing girl just needs the right home. She is adorable and a firm favourite with staff and volunteers.
MATT
Age: 4 / D.O.B: 16/9/19 / Breed: Greyhound / Sex: Male Neutered

Matt came in 1/2/24 after retiring from racing. His name was ALNWICK MATT and he stopped racing due to his age. Shadows came in 28/1/24 as a stray. She is blind and is looking for a home that can give her the understanding and care she needs. Shadows just needs small walks and someone that is in most of the time. She would need to be the only pet. Shadows still has so much love to give, she just needs a chance.
ROXY
Age: 1 / D.O.B: 23/12/22 / Breed: Italian Mastiff / Sex: Female

Roxy was found as a stray and came in to us 5/2/24. She is very sweet and a little shy. Roxy can pull a little if she sees another dog. She is not reactive to them. Normally walks lovely by your side looking for attention and treats. Really nice temperament. We are not sure of her history so on the side of caution no other pets or children.
GORDON
Age: 3 / D.O.B: 1/2/2021/ Breed: ADB/ Shar Pei Cross / Sex: Male
Loves everyone / walks without pulling/ non reactive
Gordon was found as a stray and came in to us 1/2/24. He is very sweet and a little shy at first. He is not reactive to other dogs, he wags his tail when he walks passed them. Gordon walks lovely by your side looking for attention and treats. Really nice temperament. He needs drops in his eye as he does have tight eye lids but this does not need surgery. Because of this we feel to err on the side of caution no other pets or young children.
WINSTON
Age: 7 / D.O.B: 1/7/2016/ Breed: Johnson’s Bulldog/ Sex: Male
Very chilled / walks lovely
Winston once he knows you is very chilled and loves going for walks. He doesn’t react to other dogs outside. He can be possessive over things he likes so for this reason we are looking for a pet free child free home. He does like company so best home for Winston is someone in most of the time.

Patch came in to us 14/3/24 sadly after his owner passed away. He likes to be cuddled if he comes to you but prefers that way to you going to pick him up. He can be grumpy so sometimes he needs his space. Patch loves his walks and is not reactive to other dogs. He needs a home where someone is around most of the time as he loves human company. He also needs a home with no children and other pets. He is looking for an experienced owner who can adjust to his needs and give him the retirement home he is searching for.

Alice came in 19/4/24 after retiring from racing. Her name was “ ZARI ALICE”. Dougie came in 12/6/23 after retiring from racing. His name was PENNY’S DOUGAL. He likes other hounds and Lurchers but not other breeds and he would not like to be rehomed with small dogs or cats due to his instinctive chasing background. Dougie has lived in a home for 6 months and settled in quickly into home life. He was returned due to owner’s circumstances changing. Dougie is a really lovely boy but is a little nervous and for this reason he is muzzled when out walking. He is making great progress and is overcoming his issues with seeing other breeds. He is a sweetheart in the home and loves companionship
